SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER

Aaris Therapy is an approved provider for Ohio’s Autism Scholarship and Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship; programs administered by the Ohio Department of Education. The Jon Peterson and Autism Scholarships give parents the choice to withrdraw their child from their local school district and receive the education and the services outlined in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) from an approved private provider.

In order to qualify for either scholarship, students must already have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their local school district. If your child does not have an IEP, but you suspect that your child is struggling because of a disability, Aaris Therapy can help identify the steps necessary to work with your local district to become eligible for a scholarship.

JON PETERSON
SCHOLARSHIP

The Jon Peterson Special Needs (JPSN) Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students who are eligible to attend kindergarten through 12th grade and have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their local school district. The amount of each scholarship will be based on the primary disability condition identified in the student’s Evaluation Team Report (ETR) and will not exceed $27,000. Students must be enrolled in the scholarship program for the entire program year to receive the full scholarship amount. The scholarship allows for open-enrollment, so students can enroll at any point in the school year.

AUTISM
SCHOLARSHIP

The Autism Scholarship Program (ASP) provides scholarships to students who are between the ages of 3 and 21, who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) from their local school district. The amount of each scholarship will not exceed $31,500. Students must be enrolled in the scholarship program for the entire program year to receive the full scholarship amount. The scholarship allows for open-enrollment, so students can enroll at any point in the school year.

HOMESCHOOLED STUDENTS

Students who are homeschooled are eligible to participate in both the Jon Peterson and Autism scholarship programs. Homeschooled students must still meet the requirement of having a current IEP from their local school district, and local districts are required to provide evaluations and IEP’s to homeschooled students in their districts who have a qualifying disability. Aaris therapy is available to help homeschool families with the process of requesting an evaluation from their local school district.
After you receive your scholarship, Aaris therapy can work with you to provide services either outpatient through our office, or home-based at your location.

PRIVATE SCHOOL STUDENTS

If your child attends a private school that is not a scholarship provider for the Jon Peterson or Autism Scholarships, you may still be eligible to receive services outside of school from a private provider. If your child is currently served through an Individual Service Plan (ISP), they may already qualify for special education services. You may still need to contact your district to begin the process of creating an IEP to qualify for a scholarship. Aaris can help you navigate this process.
